  1. Thankyou Andy. We really put a lot of effort into our blog posts last month and it was very nice to see that it paid off in terms of rankings, publications and backlinks but most importantly, if you read some of the comments, we actually reached people and changed minds.

I am so glad I found your blog. I have been trying to customize my comments w/comment luv for hours and hours to look basically like yours does and I couldn't get the outer wrapper color to change from grey! I was able to copy from your source code and just change all of the colors. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It's also always nice to find another Christian blog!

  3. I am glad you were able to get it sorted. It is seriously a nightmare isn't it? You remind me that given the hell Bethyada and I went through trying to find the codes gathering them together from all over the net, that I must post a "how to" and provide the codes and some tips that would have saved us some hours.

Yes, it was totatlly a nightmare! I found you through the site Comment Luv
linked to that was supposed to tell you how to customize it, but what was
provided there really didn't work right. Thank God I had the idea to look
at other people who had posted comments! It seems the process could be made
much easier. It was still worth the effort once it was finished. If you do
make a "how to" post--one suggestion would be to make it very clear what
each piece of code is for EXACTLY. :) LOL.

  5. That site provided some of the answers but not all - at least it actually told you where to put the code, unlike the official help page, LOL!

I think I can do better than that grainy picture provided on the page in question.

Now if you come across any instructions as to how to raise the height of the comment box so you can see what you are writing please come back and tell me!

Also if you can work out how to make the Recent blog post links the default link colours instead of the text colour.

Oh and, if you can work out how to customise the grey borders around the boxes in the leave a comment box, including the avatar border, tell me that too...

I will have to take a peek at your site now and see what you have done.

Wow you have an eye for detail! I never even noticed the grey borders until
you pointed them out. I haven't noticed the height of the comment box being
an issue either. I can however help you with the link color. Look for this
    line in your code: ".js-singleCommentText a {color: #338888 !important; }."
That is the color you will want to change to your default link color. You
may also want to change the upload image button and the powered by ones (all
three at the bottom) as well. This replying by email feature is also
    awesome!

Okay I am not sure what you mean about the comment box height. Is it that you would just like to see more of your post at once without scrolling up and down? Because as I type and fill up the box, a scroll bar appears which allows me to scroll up and down as needed to see what has been written. I purposely made this response long enough to do so in case you are wondering. :)

  8. I would like to be able to see much more of what I am writing without having
to scroll. We write, at times, quite lengthy, detailed and complex responses
and I need to be able to see that it all follows, glance back and forward
over it without having to scroll. I am not the only one who finds this
frustrating, we have had several complaints. Something like the height of
the default blogger comments box would be much better.

  9. Thankyou! – I found the culprit and it was indeed assigned the same colour as the text. I just amended it and now the links are showing up the right colour - yay!

I found the comment box height issue answer! It's one simple line of code. First look for this line:

    ".js-CreateCommentFieldsWrap"

    Below that add this one:

    ".js-CreateComment textarea {height:300px;}"

You can adjust the height to anything you like, and you could also adjust the width in the same manner if you would like by adding a width specification in the same line of code. I set my height to 150px.

Why thank you, I would be honored by a link! I did actually find the answer on JS-Kit Comments FAQ. :) Here is the link: http://js-kit.com/comments/faq.html. I do wish they would make this information a little easier to find and implement though. I had to play around with it to figure out exactly what to add and what not to. I will let you know if I find anything about the borders.
